This structural pivot targets the massive compute disparity that GitHub can no longer afford to subsidize. Mario Rodriguez, GitHub’s Chief Product Officer, laid it out plainly: under the old system, a developer asking a quick chat question cost the company the same as an autonomous agent grinding through a multi-hour coding session.
