Microsoft has for the first time disclosed its exact quarterly revenue figures for Azure in dollars rather than relying on percentage growth alone. According to Microsoft, the cloud platform brought in $33.2 billion in revenue for the July-September quarter, representing a 48% increase from a year earlier. This performance topped the 44% to 45% growth rate forecasted by Microsoft CFO Amy Hood on the company's July earnings call, while exceeding the $32.3 billion expected by analysts.
The disclosure places the platform directly alongside competing enterprise environments, exposing the capital moving through heavy AI and application hosting workloads. Alphabet stated that Google Cloud brought in $30.7 billion in the same quarter. According to TechCrunch's calculations, Google Cloud roughly doubled its revenue from a year earlier, growing at twice the pace of Azure. Azure accounted for roughly 36% of Microsoft's $92.3 billion in total quarterly revenue.
Azure now sits inside Agents and Infra, one of two new business segments introduced this quarter that groups the cloud platform with Microsoft 365's cloud business. That combined segment brought in $76.8 billion, up 25% from a year earlier. With major cloud providers reporting exact dollar figures, capital expenditure allocations and infrastructure monetization rates remain the core metric determining market position.
